Best of Breed CH JACGLEN'S FOREVER PRESENT (Judge Sheila Maw—Jacki Herron) (Breeder/Owner) Jacki & Richard Forkel
|
NOTES FROM THE REGULAR JUDGE: SHEILA MAW
What a lovely day I had on the 20th of June – the weather – the setting – a lovely warm welcome and some super Scotties to judge many of whom I would have been delighted to have taken home ! I was so honoured by the theme an English Garden Afternoon Tea Party a lovely thoughtful touch !
I found some very nice Scotties, I was pleasantly surprised by the quality –and in many classes felt I |
could have done with more prizes – but that is showing isn’t it !
For my winners I was looking for the nearest to the Breed Standard overall,I was pleased to find many conforming , but concerned at the narrowness of some fronts and what we call slab sided ribs , also a few too high on the leg. |
Movement was generally good, especially in the heat – I would have liked a larger ring- a Scot must have room to drive to see true movement. Presentation was excellent – so much care taken and some super crisp coats they were a credit to their handlers.
The wheatens I found very interesting – (we are now breeding and exhibiting more in the U.K. after many years of regarding them as “different”)- only one light eye and nose to be found - and many lovely shades of coat.
I was particularly delighted at the number of young handlers |
exhibiting and with such flair and enthusiasm- what a bonus for the future of exhibiting.
I loved my four finalists – Ch. Jacglens Forever Present B.O.B. –Ch.PJScott Thistlepark Elegant Eleanor B.O.S., Top Brass Razzle Dazzle B.of W., and Paloma’s Ruby Tasha W.B.--All true Scots and a credit to the breed and the standard.
To those who were disappointed –there are |
always too few prizes – but my motto- tomorrow is another day !
I thank the Club very much for my invitation , the wonderful hospitality to my husband and me, my lovely welcome at the Show and superb entry. I had a day to remember.
