Membership to the Scottish Terrier Club is the Scottish Terrier Club of California is open to all persons eighteen (18) years of age and older who are in good standings with the American Kennel Club and who subscribe to the purpose of this Club. A Junior membership is open to all persons between the ages of 10 through 17.
The Club’s primary purpose is to be representative of the breeders and exhibitors in it’s immediate area. However, area of residence is not a restriction to membership.
The biggest value that joining provides is the contact with fellow Scottish Terrier owners and enthusiasts be they exhibitors, breeders, owners or Scottish Terrier Collectable enthusiasts. The current membership consists of nearly 164 persons in individual, junior and family units. In this group can be found mentors on showing and grooming, historians on lineage and famous Scottish Terrier show records, persons who have weathered the good and bad health of their Scottish Terriers, and folks with opinions in answer to any Scottish Terrier related problem you may be experiencing.
Other benefits include our Club Bulletin (10 issues per year) and the opportunity to help with the puppy matches and Club Speciality, which is an annual conformation match hosted by the club.
There are several choices when deciding on your membership level. These choices are based on your desired level of participation and if you are joining as an individual or as a group. For example, a “Regular” member has the ability to vote while an “Associate” has all the privileges of a regular member but cannot vote. Annual dues range from $13 to $25 depending on your choice of membership. Please feel free to contact the Corresponding Secretary for more information about the application package.
